Samsung India on Thursday declared ‘Samsung Star Scholar’ grants for 150 exceptional students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools who have qualified for an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or a National Institute of Technology (NIT) in India. Selection of students for the ‘Samsung Star Scholar’ program will start from the 2016-17 scholastic sessions of B. Tech/Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in view of their positioning in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The ‘Samsung Star Scholar’ program is adjusted to the organization’s continuous push to support meriting youthful ability by empowering them with quality training. Samsung joined forces with the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in 2013 and right now Samsung Smart Classes are operational in more than 400 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya the nation over. The grant beneficiaries will get money related support of up to Rs. two lakh every year, which is planned to cover significant share of their educational expenses, including tuition, hostel and mess expenses. “With the ‘Samsung Star Scholar’ program we aim to make it possible for extraordinary students from low-income backgrounds to afford to attend some of the top colleges and universities in our country. These students have excelled in academics, and we hope to be able to support their endeavor by further changing their lives,” said vice president Samsung, Deepak Bhardwaj.Samsung Smart Class aims to bridge the digital gap between rural and urban India and give square with chances to quality instruction to kids from all foundations. Since the primary Samsung Smart Class was built up in 2013, more than two lakh understudies have profited from it.
