Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are institutions of national importance established through Acts of Parliament for fostering excellence in education. Over the years, IITs have created a world class educational platform that is dynamically sustained through quality teaching and internationally acclaimed research with excellent infrastructure and the best available minds. The faculty and alumni of IITs occupy key positions in academia and industry, both in India and abroad, and continue to make a considerable impact in all sections of the Society. JEE Advanced 2016 Registration to commence from April 29, 2016

The JEE is an all India Engineering Entrance Exam, conducted every year for students who wish to take admissions into various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. The JAB, also known as Joint Admission Board conducts the JEE Advanced exam. The registration for the same will begin from April 29, 2016. While registering, the candidates will be given a choice to choose the language option of their question paper. JEE Advanced 2016 will be held in two languages – English or Hindi. The paper will not be bilingual. If a candidate is absent in one of the papers, then the candidate will be considered as absent in the examination. Continue reading

New IIT test format will not hit coaching

Coaching centres are quite confident that they will keep on guiding students for better preparation, despite the moves to introduce major changes in entrance examinations to the prestigious technology institutes. The IIT council had constituted a committee to suggest changes to deter candidates from depending on coaching centers.

Reacting to these recommendations, those engaged in the coaching business said short-term preparatory courses would become more popular, as students will take to them to be able to tackle the aptitude tests.

JEE Advanced 2016 Website Launched. Guwahati will be the responsible IIT.

Website for JEE Advanced 2016 has been launched on Thursday, 22nd October. This year, IIT Guwahati has been given the responsibility to conduct this prestigious engineering entrance exam. The date of the exam has not been declared yet but it is announced that this year too, the exam will be having 2 papers of 3 hours each. The timing of these papers will be 9 AM to 12 PM and then 2 PM to 5 PM. Earlier, there were proposals for single exam and single rank for admission in IIT’s and NIT’s but it is mostly unlikely to happen in this session. Still the final decision is yet to be taken by the committee.

Certain eligibility criteria announced on JEE Advanced 2016 website are as follows:

Criterion 1 – Age limit.

The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1991 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1986 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

JEE 2015 Counselling Postponed Again. CBSE yet to announce the JEE Mains (2015) Ranks.

The joint counselling of JEE this year has been postponed again as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to announce the JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-1 and Paper-2 ranks. Now the results of JEE Main 2015 are expected to be announced on 30th June. As per Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), it will take atleast 2 to 3 hours to open the JoSAA portal to the candidates for online registration and choice filling-in at JoSAA site, once CBSE announces the ranks.
