The National Testing Agency (NTA) will start the registration process for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2019 from September first week on its official website, the link for which is nta.ac.in
EE (Main) to be held twice a year:
Last month, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) will be conducted twice in a year from 2019.
JEE (Main) syllabus:
According to the minister, there will be no change in the syllabus of JEE Mains; neither will the exam cost more than what it does currently.
Also, the question papers each day will be different and may vary from candidate to candidate.
JEE Mains Exam Schedule for January and April 2019
January exam schedule:
Online submissions of application forms: September 1, 2018 to September 30, 2018
Examination dates: January 6, 2019, to January 20, 2019
April exam schedule:
Online submissions of application forms: Second week of Feb 2019
Examination dates: April 7, 2019, to April 21, 2019
Examination to use highly secured IT software:
- These examinations will use highly secured IT software and encryption to ensure delivery of tests just in time. This will ensure no leakages and other malpractices
- Moreover, NTA will establish a network of test practice centres for students of rural areas so that everyone will have an opportunity to practice before the exam. Schools/engineering colleges with computer centres would be identified and kept open on Saturday/Sunday starting from the third week of August. Any student can use the facility free of charge
Scheme of examination:
Paper 1 (BE/BTech) of JEE (Main) 2018: This will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and online (Computer Based Examination) mode.
Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning) of JEE (Main) 2018: This will be conducted only in pen and paper based examination mode.
JEE (Main) 2019 will be conducted in major cities and towns of India as well as abroad.
The papers will be conducted in English and Hindi mediums, except in Gujarat, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where the paper will also be conducted in Gujarati.
Number of attempts:
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to three.
Selection procedure for admission to IIT:
All those candidates who have successfully cleared the JEE (Mains) will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam round. Students will be allotted colleges on the basis of these two written exams.
