The newly formed National Testing Agency will establish 3000 new practice centres to let aspirants of NEET-UG and JEE Main 2019 practice online mock tests free of cost from August 2018.
It will also launch a mobile application to help them register and locate these centres near them. Also, it has been proclaimed that these national level examinations will be conducted twice a year from 2019. This has been done in case the student is not satisfied with the scores or has missed the chance to appear for these examinations.
According to the NTA officials, both the exams proposed to be held twice a year shall have the same pattern, syllabus and difficulty level. However, the only difference will be that these will be computer based.
To give real computer based exam experience to the students, these centres will function on Saturdays and Sundays and each aspirant will be allotted an hour to practice the online mock tests.
According to the reports, many changes will take place for 2019 exams but the pattern and the syllabus will be the same. The expected dates for JEE 2019 ,NEET UG 2019 and UGC NET 2019 will be declared in the first week of September, but the tentative exam dates have been declared.
While JEE Mains will be held in the month of January and April, NEET will be conducted in February and May. The students will also get the chance to select the centre and the date for the exam as suitable to them.
With these major changes announced in the examination system, apart from these national level entrance examinations (JEE Mains, NEET and UGC NET), from the next year the NTA will also conduct Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) and Common Management Admission Test (CMAT).
The students will be allowed to appear in both the exams and the best of the two score will be take into account for admission. This will give choice to the students in case they fail to appear in any of the examination due to unwanted circumstances.
The months in which these examinations will be held are out but their confirmed dates are yet to be declared. NEET (UG) 2019 February exam is expected to be held between 3 February 2019 to 17 February 2019. The online application and registration process will be commenced in October 2018 and the exam results will probably be declared in the first week of March . Whereas, NEET (UG) 2019 May exam will be conducted between 12 May 2019 to 26 May 2019, the application process is expected to commence in the second week of March 2019. The results for this will be declared in the first week of June 2019.
On the other hand, it has been expected that that JEE Main 2019 January Exam will be held between January 1 to January 20, 2019 and its online submission of application forms will commence in the month of September, 2018. It has been reported that JEE Main 2019 exam will be held in 8 different sitting and aspirants will have the option to choose any one.
The exam results are expected to be released in the first week of February 2019.
