JEE Advanced 2018 result declared; Pranav Goyal from Roorkee zone secured rank 1

NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018 results have been declared today on the official website

Pranav Goyal is the top ranker in Common Rank List (CRL) in JEE (Advanced) 2018 by obtaining 337 marks out of 360 marks. Meenal Parakh is the top ranked female with CRL 6. She scored 318 marks.

K V R Hemant Kumar Chodipilli is the topper from IIT-Kharagpur region. His rank is 7.

Vineetha Vennela from IIT- Kharagpur region is first among girls. Her rank is 261.

In 2018, a total of 11,279 seats are being offered in the IITs. This year, 800 supernumerary seats have been created specifically for female candidates in the IITs in order to improve the gender balance in IITs.

A Total number of 1,55,158 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 in JEE (Advanced) 2018. A total of 18,138 candidates have qualified JEE (Advanced) 2018. This is more than 1.6 times the number of seats that are being offered.

Of the total qualified candidates, 2076 are females.

The results of IIT JEE Advanced 2018 published on the official website

The examination scores, as well as all-India rankings of JEE Advanced 2018 has also been published on the website.

The JEE advanced exam was conducted on May 20, 2018 after the JEE mains results declared in April this year. Over 1,60,000 students appeared for the JEE Advanced exam this year.

The JEE Advanced is conducted for admissions in 23 IITs and NITs across the country.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the computer-based test (CBT) in two phases.

According to the Information Brochure for JEE (Advanced) 2018 the results will be declared on Sunday, June 10, 2018 10:00 IST.

Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers.

Individual rank cards will NOT be sent to candidates.

However, qualifying in JEE Advanced (2018), filling up choices and/or participating in the joint seat allocation process do not guarantee a candidate to get admission in IITs. Admission will depend on the availability of seats during various rounds of seat allocation.

Candidates should note that the exact date and time for the JEE Advanced 2018 results have not been confirmed by the IIT Kanpur.

For the first time, this year the JEE Advanced was conducted online and as a result the candidates did not have the hard copy of their question papers.
