IIT-Gandhinagar to organize JEE open house

The Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) at Palaj will organize JEE Open House 2018 on June 17 to guide the students who have qualified in JEE Advanced examination. The event will include campus tour, sessions by deans of IIT-Gn and interaction with faculties and students. The annual event aims at providing guidance to the students and parents to help them choose among different engineering branches at IITs. Those wishing to participate require registration on IIT-Gn’s website for the same. Prof Pratik Mutha, dean of Academic Affairs, said that students often aren’t aware of various disciplines, programmes and course of study offered at various IITs, and they may also have a lot of confusion and misconceptions.

“The open house is a platform to give students and their parents a deeper insight about various opportunities and possibilities at the IITs,” he said.
Rananjay Pratap Singh, secretary of Student Council, said that it is an opportunity to understand IITs up close. “Students have worked hard for the JEE success. Now is the time to give that hard work it’s due by taking a well-informed decision. The students will be able to get their queries addressed by experts,” he said.
