Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) tied up with Google to get the information of examination and results that CBSE conducts. CBSE has its own on-line system which provides such information. But this tie-up will provide the information faster and more secure, says CBSE official. It is started on experimental basis during the declaration of results of Joint Engineering Entrance (JEE) Main examination.
Since the last five or more years, most of the competitive or entrance examinations have been conducted by CBSE. Everybody knows that examinations are an integral part of an Indian student’s academic journey. Some over 200 million students in India spend hours together preparing for examinations and eagerly await the moment that results are announced. The students use internet rampantly so most of the times they take help of internet for all their examination-related needs. Many times they can not able to find information as the same is hard to locate, and slow to load. With a view to bring improvement in the examination process, Google has announced two new features to make finding examination information easier and more reliable.
With the JEE Main examination results, Google is launching a feature on Google Search to help students quickly, securely, and seamlessly locate their examination score on their smartphone or desktop. CBSE worked directly with Google to make the JEE Main exam results available on the Google Search results page as soon as they are announced.
According to sources at CBSE, the board is collaborating with Google for smooth circulation of results through an easy and secure platform.
When asked about how the system would work, sources at Google told ‘The Hitavada’, “When a student searches for JEE Main results they will be able to directly look up their scores within Google Search. They simply have to enter their roll number, date of birth. This will help them to see their individual results on the site. Google has taken all precautions and took CBSE into confidence so that the data is handled safely.”
Dhwanika Limbachia, a Class 12 student said that she remembered how the website crashed during her Class X result and she became anxious. The website was overloaded and it became difficult for the students to know the result. “Now we have been told that this tie-up will not have crash or overloading problems. Google is much faster so we will not have to wait for long to get the result uploaded,” added Dhwanika.
Most of the schools in Nagpur though were not aware about this development, welcomed this development. Class 12 results are expected by May 28, the Class 10 results will be out by the month-end, said CBSE sources.
One more thing was made clear by CBSE and Google that the data would be used only for the purpose of showing the results. The data would be available on the site only for the duration.
This arrangement of displaying result would not be limited to CBSE’s Class X or Class XII examinations. The information regarding GATE, SSC CGL, CAT, and many more, will be available on Google.
