NEET Exam 2018 – After No Takers For Regional Languages, Here’s What Govt. Plans Next

As per the recent reports, the Government is seeking to scrap the option to take the NEET Exam in the regional languages and thus conduct the examination in the English exam only. Over time, it has been witnessed that students prefer writing the examination in the English language on a rather wider base in comparison to the students who prefer to write the examination in their regional language.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entrance examination which is conducted within the country for all the students who are interested to pursue any type of graduate medical course or any dental course or any kind of postgraduate courses in the different government or the private medical colleges located in different parts of the country.

Government Seeks To Conduct NEET Exam in English Only

The Government is seeking to conduct the NEET Exam in the English language only and thus scrapping the conduction of the NEET Exam in the different regional languages. With time, it has been witnessed that the English language is being preferred as a mode to attempt the exam. Though, this cannot be considered as a newly emerged fact, but the preference of people to attempt the exams in the English language is widely known.

As far as the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) Exam is concerned, the NEET 2018 Exam had experienced a similar scenario. A total of 13 lakh students who had appeared for the NEET 2018 medical entrance Examination, only 8 percent of the total students attempted the examination in their regional language.

English Dominates Regional Languages in NEET Exam 2018

The data which has been formulated by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) reveals that out of the total 13,26,725 students who had appeared for the NEET 2018 Examination, as many as 10 lakh students prefered to write the exam in the English language over their regional languages.

The NEET 2018 Exam had options of different languages like Kannada, Gujarati, Tamil, Assamese, Oriya, Telugu, Marathi, Urdu as well as Bengali in which the students could answer the proposed questions but only 27,528 students wrote the NEET 2018 Exam in different regional languages and 1,46,542 students attempted the exam in Hindi language.
